Netflix users are expressing confusion after the release of the new film Spiderhead.
A thriller based on the dystopian story of George Saunders Escape from Spiderheadwas added to the streaming service on Friday (June 18th).
He follows two prisoners who create a connection as they struggle with their past in a state-of-the-art prison run by a visionary who experiments on his subjects using mind-altering drugs.
The film reached the top of Netflix’s world charts just one day after its release.
However, viewers are confused why they only heard about the film on the day of its release.
After all, Netflix had a lot of outlets to work with – namely Chris Hemsworth, one of Marvel’s most popular stars, starring.
In addition, the film was directed by Joseph Kosinski, whose previous film, Top Gun: Maverick, was one of the most successful of the year, not to mention the most praised by critics.
The film, which was shared by critics, was also written by Ret Reese and Paul Wernicke, the screenwriting duo behind the first two films about Deadpool.
“It simply came to our notice then Spiderhead on Netflix, the way they did not promote this film when they were their best cast and the direction in general was brilliant is very characteristic of Netflix, “wrote one viewer who enjoyed the film.
Another added: “I just heard about the film Spiderhead two hours ago, it was a fire. How come Netflix didn’t promote it? “
Someone else came in: “Question @netflix why don’t you promote #Spiderhead, but would you promote your other things that shouldn’t be named? It was directed by #josephkosinski, for God’s sake.
A week earlier SpiderheadDirector and producer Peter Atencio wrote: “In seven days, the streaming service is releasing a $ 100 million film starring one of the world’s biggest movie stars and directed by a guy with a movie in theaters who is currently the biggest hit of the year. However, I can’t remember seeing any commercials for that. “
IndependentLouis Chilton thinks he may have understood why there was no promotion Spiderheadwriting that it is a sign that the streaming service is becoming less and less daring day by day.
Spiderheadstarring Miles Teller and Journey Smolet, is now available for streaming on Netflix.
