First it was the super regional surprise elimination of No. 1 Tennessee in Knoxville. This was followed by a gem on Friday in the first round of the World College Series against the long-time mighty Texas.
Now Notre Dame is suddenly a favorite of college baseball with golden helmets going to the winning game against Oklahoma on Sunday at Charles Schwab Field in Omaha, Neb.
The Irish (41-15) and Sooners (43-22) are unplaced outsiders who fell in the CVS tournament with eight teams and double elimination, and each of them is two wins away from the final series. Sunday’s winner will play on Wednesday at 14:00 in the group of winners, while the loser will play the elimination match at 14:00 on Tuesday.
