Bradley Cooper says he will “never forget” the time when his “heroic actress” mocked his first Oscar nomination

  • Bradley Cooper recalled that people in Hollywood ridiculed him for numerous Oscar nominations.
  • He told the “SmartLess” podcast that the director told him he didn’t deserve seven nominations.
  • He also said that the actor “hero” belittled his first Oscar nomination.

Bradley Cooper recalled the time when the superstar actor ridiculed his first Oscar nomination.

Although Cooper did not win an Oscar, the actor was nominated nine times, including three times for the remake of the musical film “The Star is Born” from 2018.

Last week, Will Arnett presented nine Cooper nominations during the latest episode of his podcast “SmartLess” – which Arnett co-hosts with Jason Bateman and Sean Hayes.

During the conversation, Cooper recalled a party at which he was ridiculed by an actor he described as his “hero”, after receiving his first Oscar nomination for the lead role in “Silver Linings Playbook”.

Prior to the incident, the actor from “Alley of Nightmares” “levitated” from a party with great movie stars such as Daniel Day-Louis and Denzel Washington.

“This heroic female actress, whom I did not know at all, comes to me and says:” I watched your film, you deserve it nomsaid Cooper, emphasizing the word “nom.”

Cooper continued, “10, 20 minutes later, I walked past her when she went to the bathroom and she said, ‘The nom.’ I remember [thinking]”What the fuck is this town?”

Cooper also spoke about another incident at another party four years ago when an unnamed director said he did not deserve an Oscar nomination. At the time, Cooper had seven nominations and was standing next to his actor and friend who had only three Oscar nominations.

“In what world do we live where you have seven nominations? What? She only has three,” Cooper recalled, as the director told him.

“I never forget anything someone said,” he continued. “I remember being like, ‘I fucking hate this job.’ I’ll never forget that, and I look and wonder, ‘Why are you such an asshole. Go fuck yourself. “

Later in the podcast, Cooper talked about how his insecurity led to his addiction to drugs and alcohol.

“I was so lost, and I was addicted to cocaine,” Cooper explained. “Will [Arnett] I took that risk of having that difficult conversation with me, say, in July 2004, and that put me on the path to deciding to change my life. “
